Missoula County supports SB 146: Revise laws relating to wage transparency, up for hearing today at 8:30 a.m. in the Senate Business, Labor and Economic Affairs Committee. SB 146 attempts to ensure that employees are provide a wage based on the nature of the work performed and seeks to ensure that a differentiation in wages paid for similar work is based on non-discriminatory practices such as seniority, merit or other measurable systems. Missoula County has worked diligently over the years, along with its collective bargaining partners, to make sure that all our wage scales are based off just these types of reasons. Missoula County believes and works to make sure that when evaluating jobs, we use fair and objective criteria to set wages.
