Missoula County supports SB 110: Provide property tax assistance to elderly homeowners by fixing appraised value, up for hearing Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 8 a.m. in the Senate Taxation Committee. The tax break in this bill specifically targets those over 80, helping to keep them in their homes by freezing their property tax burden. Missoula County recognizes and supports efforts to protect our most vulnerable citizens. Missoula County has heard from many seniors being forced to make hard decisions because of the increase in property taxes, and this bill would be able to help them.
