Missoula County supports, as amended, HB 546: Authorize additional funding for coal trust loan program for housing, which was heard this morning in the Senate, Labor and Economic Affairs Committee.
This bill would double the amount of funds that the board can authorize from the permanent coal tax trust fund from $15 million to $30 million. These funds would be used for providing loans for the development and preservation of homes and apartments to assist low-income and moderate-income residents. This bill will help provide a range of housing options within Missoula County and support those that are at the lowest end of the housing spectrum.
