Missoula County supports HB 909: Provide for a housing stability services program, up for hearing at 3 p.m. tomorrow, March 28, in the House Human Services Committee. We support any effort that helps alleviate housing instability, and HB 909 does this through the use of Medicaid dollars. Missoula County residents continue to feel the impacts of the pandemic, inflation and an unstable housing market. The rates of people experiencing homelessness continue to climb, and removing an important social safety net during these times, when funding is already available, is disturbing and shifts the problem to local governments and local taxpayers to solve.
