Missoula County supports HB 349: Children's Default Safety Act, up for hearing Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. in the House Energy, Technology and Federal Relations Committee.
This bill would require smart phone and tablet manufacturers to make filtering technology the default setting when the device is turned on. This would protect children from seeing sexually explicit online when using the device. This act would simplify digital security for parents and families and recognizes that not all children may have guardians who are involved with or aware of their digital well-being.
Missoula County supports HB 349: Children's Default Safety Act, scheduled for second reading today on the House floor.
