Missoula County supports HB 430: Establish a rent local program funded with tax on short-term rentals, up for hearing at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 in the House Taxation Committee.
This bill would allow the county to create a rent local program, which would use rebates to incentivize homeowners to rent property to local employees. Increasing housing supply for employees who work for area businesses aligns with Missoula County’s goals and housing initiatives. A similar program has been created in the Big Sky community with success.
