Missoula County joins the Treasurer’s Association in support of HB 830: Operate alternative property tax payment schedule for primary residences, up for hearing at 8 a.m. Friday, March 24, in the House Taxation Committee. HB 830 creates an alternate payment schedule for qualifying taxpayers that will help ease the burden of property taxes and create a more manageable payment system. Although there is a cost to managing the new payment system, the benefit to taxpayers outweighs that cost. This bill would be a good thing for Missoula taxpayers and give them another option to make paying taxes easier.
